You may choose your characters, add speech bubbles for the dialogue, and add in props. There are choices for template sizes so please choose the 3 or 6 panel template. You cannot save your comic so please print when you are finished. Be creative and have fun!

During this decade Americans bought around 15 million TV sets! Families started eating their dinner while watching TV and there were many popular shows on.
Task:
You and a partner will be assigned a number and you need to watch the TV clip that matches that number. Click here to view the clips. Then, you and your partner will write a summary of the TV show. You may type your summary in a Google doc on your Google Drive account. There will be pictures shared with you that you may insert into the writing.

Civil Rights are the basic rights that all people have under our government and in America, these rights are protected under the US Constitution. Basically no person shall be discriminated against because of what they look like or what they believe. The Civil Rights Movement became very strong in the 1950's starting with Rosa Parks. She refused to give up her seat on a city bus to a white man. Her peaceful protest against segregation inspired many others to fight for equal rights regardless of skin color.
Task:
Part 1: Watch this Brain Pop about the Civil Rights Movement. (Find the login information in your agenda)
Part 2: Rosa Parks helped to start the fight for equal rights for black people. Read this passage about her and answer the questions. Then, turn in the passage and questions to your teacher.
Part 3: Imagine you are part of the fight for civil rights. You are peacefully protesting with Rosa Parks in the 1950's. Design a motivational poster to inspire others around you. Click here for the site to design your poster. For your poster, you need a picture, a title, and some motivational text. Remember, you are writing as though you involved in the Civil Rights Movement in the 50's. Here is an example of a motivational poster.
